Are you seeing a pickup of people coming back into your coworking space?
Are you seeing a pickup of people coming back into your coworking space? Maybe it’s a little slower than you hoped, but it’s certainly happening.
It feels, though, a little like the Munchkins coming out after Dorothy’s house fell on the Wicked Witch of the West. Your old members, new members and you are all just a little fearful and watchful.
With that feeling, many people aren’t wanting to make big commitments. They need to test the waters and see what a new normal is going to look like for them.
Offer plans that demonstrate that you understand that—plans that don’t require a big commitment. Not only will this increase your bottom line more quickly, but you’ll be showing that you are actively thinking about what people in your community need as they start to reemerge.
Some people who work for larger corporations may not be back in the office until September. They’ve got to get out of the house at least part of the time. Set up 5 or 10 day/month plans. (We have 5/day and 12/day plans in our centers.)
Or perhaps you have people who don’t know what they want yet and are afraid of any kind of monthly commitment, including freelancers whose businesses are just starting back up. What about offering them a “Bucket of Hours” plan that includes a number of hours in open space or an office or a conference room? Create those plans so that they re-bill when used up, rather than monthly. This way people can use a few hours one month, a few the next. As they start becoming more comfortable, they can move to regular monthly plans, but you’ve been there for them in the transition. Or maybe you want to offer quick discounts or Coming Out of Covid Specials.
Your management software should easily create and automatically track all of this for you, so your workload is decreased, not increased. If you can think it, it should be doable! You are the biggest resource in getting the workspace industry functional again, and we need you feeling strong.
Here with you,
